Vietnamese Over-the-Phone/Virtual Interpreter (Remote)

Ad Astra, Inc. is currently seeking professional and dependable Vietnamese Interpreters to support our clients due to a high volume of incoming interpretation requests.

This is a freelance, remote opportunity for interpreters who are available to support a consistent schedule, ideally an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday.

Interpreters will handle Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Virtual Interpreting (VRI) calls across a variety of industries, including healthcare, legal, government, and community services. In this role, you will play a key part in facilitating clear communication and helping individuals overcome language barriers.

We are particularly interested in interpreters who are available for regular shifts and can support our team during periods of high call volume.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English (spoken proficiency required)
  • Strong understanding of cultural nuances and confidentiality
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Prior interpretation experience preferred (healthcare, legal, or social services is a plus)
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable handling sensitive information

Technical Requirements

  • Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer) with at least 8GB RAM
  • High-speed, private internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload)
  • USB wired headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth or wireless headsets)
