Technical Designer

We are in search of a Technical Designer and Draftsperson to join our Signage Design and Implementation team. This role is suited for someone with a passion for taking creative concepts and meticulously crafting them into comprehensive systems. As a pivotal link between creativity and practicality, you will not only document design details and specifications but also apply signage systems to diverse site-specific applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical design, a hands-on approach, and a readiness to work with our varied client base across healthcare, financial services, energy, and technology sectors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to understand and interpret design concepts
• Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for comprehensive signage systems
• Utilize industry-standard software to prepare technical drawings
• Advise on material selection, structural considerations, and installation methods
• Ensure compliance with ADA guidelines, regulatory standards, and client specifications
• Create site-specific design recommendations for applying signage systems to client facilities
• Participate in project management, adhering to timelines and contributing to the efficiency of the implementation process
• Manage responsibilities across multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and quality deliverables

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in producing AutoCAD technical details as they relate to production in industrial design related fields, custom fabrication, or architectural detailing
• Educational or professional background in fabrication, industrial design, environmental graphic design, or architecture
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Corel Draw; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp is beneficial
• Experience in a documentation production-oriented role, demonstrating a practical approach to design in preparation of costing or manufacturing documents
• Keen understanding of the built environment, coupled with a robust sense of scale and spatial awareness, to effectively contribute to signage design
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials related to signage is a strong asset
• Self-driven and motivated individual that is interested in growth, learning and being trained up to a senior technical role as compensatory with experience
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines
• The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and adjust to shifting priorities
• Willingness to travel as needed, though travel is expected to be minimal (20% of the time or less)

Compensation

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

Final salary will be determined based on seniority, merit, geographic location, education, training and experience, and may vary from the amount listed above.
